Socialist Action joined some 500 people at Yonge and Bloor Streets to mark Arafah Day. Across the street, well protected by police, were about two dozen Zionist counter-demonstrators. Following 90 minutes of chanting, most of pro-Palestinian crowd took to the street and marched to Dundas Square.
Arafah is the last month in the Arabic calendar. Organizers collected donations to build a new bakery in Gaza. SA participants and many others contributed.
