Hundreds gathered on August 18 at Front Street and Bay in Toronto to protest the murderous bombardment of Palestinians in Gaza by the Zionist state. The crowd demanded an end to arms sales by Canadian corporations to Israel — a violation of the resolution adopted by Parliament, backed by the Justin Trudeau Liberal minority government and the New Democratic Party which is propping up the Liberals.
After an hour of chanting “Free, Free Palestine” and other slogans, in keeping with the theme “Palestine Shutdown”, the protesters occupied the intersections of University and Front, and of Bay and Front. Genocide cannot be business as usual.
