Following a brief rain shower, thousands gathered at Toronto’s Dundas Square to demonstrate solidarity with the Palestinian people. This was just hours after the Zionist war machine announced a cease-fire in the bombardment of Gaza, reflecting the global political isolation of the Israeli Apartheid state. Palestinians are united in their resolve to fight for freedom, for an end to the Occupation and other miseries inflicted on them daily, for generations, since the Nakba 73 years ago.
The next action will be an information picket on Tuesday, May 25, 1 p.m. outside the constituency office of Liberal Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland at 344 Bloor Street West, just west of Spadina. Socialist Action will join the event hosted by the Greater Toronto BDS Coalition. Together we call on Freeland and the Justin Trudeau government to condemn Israel’s ongoing war on the Palestinians, to stop the $36 million purchase of Israeli drones, to halt Israeli military recruitment in Canada, and to impose sanctions on the Apartheid state and economy until Palestinian human rights are fully respected.
