Over 500 people attended an emergency rally in Toronto, Monday, May 10 at 3 p.m. in defense of the East-Jerusalem Palestinian neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah and to protest the attack on worshipers at Al Aqsa mosque.

Palestine House sponsored the action.  It was held at Canada’s busiest downtown intersection, near the Israeli Consulate at 2 Bloor Street East and Yonge St.

The SA banner “Smash Zionist Apartheid” and SA flags joined a sea of Palestinian flags, along with many homemade signs decrying the current Israeli repression in the West Bank.

Members of the crowd purchased 28 “End the Occupation” buttons produced by SA.
A similar action was scheduled to occur in Montreal a little later in the afternoon.
