Beginning with a rally at Front and Bay (Union Station), the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People was marked in Toronto on November 29 by a march to Sankofa Square.  According to the sponsoring organization, the Palestinian Youth Movement, some 500+ took to the streets to demand an end both to the Zionist genocide, and Canadian government complicity with that most heinous of crimes against humanity.
Many of the protesters carried placards produced by the Yves Engler for NDP Leader Campaign.  Slogans included “Smash Israeli Apartheid”, “Down with Zionist Terrorism” and “NDP Needs Anti-Imperialist Leadership.”
Surrounded by signs proclaiming the presence of Yves’ supporters, some marchers wondered aloud: ‘Where is Avi Lewis’?
