May 7, 2024 | Socialist Action
For the 38th year in a row, Socialist Action marked May Day with a packed house of poets, singers, musicians, speakers and audience at Toronto’s historic Free Times Cafe. The gathering on Friday, May 3 featured James Gordon, Honey Novick, George Elliott Clarke, Bill Heffernan, Amer Khoury (PYM), Julius Arscott (Socialist Action), John Clarke, Dirka Prout, Aromal Mihraj, Ben Marenlensky (MWG), and Emily Steers. The gala was chaired by Elizabeth Byce, with help from little Josie Arscott.
The event was capped by great food and drinks, a busy literature display, and a popular raffle with prizes that included Jamaican rum, books, and Indigenous crafts. Thanks to Rubina C. for most of the attached photos.
