The Toronto Region Socialist Action Annual End-of-Summer Picnic took place at Withrow Park on September 2, 2023 with dozens of folks in attendance.
The gathering featured live music, with HOTCHA!, Honey Novick, Jon Sanderson, and Emily Steers, and a copious potluck of delicious foods and drinks, plus a large display of literature, buttons and T-shirts under the SA canopy. The crowd was treated to short speeches by Sarom Rho of the Migrant Workers’ Alliance for Change, Anna Jessup of the Toronto Coalition Against NATO, and Kiri Vadivelu on behalf of Corey David, the Municipal Socialist Alliance candidate in the upcoming Scarborough Southwest Ward 20 by-election. A short, light drizzle did not dampen spirits during the three hour event.
