with Marxist Economist Michael Roberts
Marxism has an undeserved reputation for urging more and more production of things to overcome poverty in the necessities of life. But is the production of ‘more and more’ really the answer to scarcity, or should our aim be to produce ‘better’ rather than ‘more’? We need to ask: to what end should productivity increase, for whom, at what cost, requiring what level of exploitation, and measured by what criteria? And how could the goal of useful production be realized, democratically and equitably, on a world scale — and before it is too late for nature and humanity?
Join us for an important discussion with Michael Roberts to explore these critical questions and more, on Sunday January 12th at 11 am PST / 2pm EST. The presentation will be followed by an hour long Q&A. See you there!
