Thousands march in London for Indigenous rights

By Mitchell Melançon

On July 1, 2022 Socialist Action participated in the Turtle Island Healing walk in London, Ontario. It was one of the largest Indigenous-led demonstrations against the Canadian colonial settler state and it’s genocide of Indigenous people.

With more than 10,000 participants, the protest was led by the Association of Iroquois and Allied Indians. A sea of orange “Every Child Matters” T-shirts flowed through the streets of downtown London. Socialist Action members carried the SA flag, placards calling for an end to Indigenous genocide, as well as flyers and booklets presenting the Socialist Action program on Indigenous issues.
